Liposuction or Lipoplasty Surgery in Thailand

Liposuction in  Phuket or Bangkok Thailand is one of our very popular procedures for many people. It is the process by which stubborn fat deposits are removed from certain areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, chest and back.

Almost everyone has areas of fat on their body they just can’t seem to shift. Whether it is your legs, your love handles or your tummy that is causing your confidence to crash,

Liposuction in  Phuket Thailand (also known as lipoplasty, liposculpture, or lipectomy) can help. Contrary to popular belief, liposuction is not a quick-fix weight loss treatment. It is designed to contour and improve the shape of your body and is best suited for people who are a healthy weight but have stubborn areas of fat they can’t get rid of with diet and exercise alone. Traditional surgical liposuction is done under general anaesthetic and involves a lengthy recovery period,

In recent years, liposuction Phuket techniques have become more sophisticated and  in Thailand new liposuction technologies have emerged, allowing for more precise, customized, and targeted results, often with faster and smoother patient recovery.  At Phuket International Hospital (PIAC) they offer a wide variety of liposuction techniques, including traditional liposuction, laser liposuction, and tumescent liposuction, which limiting patient risk, discomfort, and downtime.

Liposuction can help shape and sculpt the body by removing excess fatty deposits in targeted areas.

In some cases, liposuction can also promote skin tightening.  Because Phuket International Hospital offers the full range of state-of-the-art liposuction techniques, they can provide patients with a truly tailored approach, specifically customised to each patient’s individual needs.  With advanced techniques including traditional tumescent and super-wet liposuction, SmartLipo™ laser technology, VASER® LipoSelection, and power-assisted liposuction, our Thailand Surgeon can combine a variety of methods to provide the best results for fat removal, skin tightening, and overall body contouring.  Liposuction can help provide outstanding results in a variety of treatment areas, including the hips, thighs, buttocks, knees, abdomen, upper arms, breasts, back, and neck.

Liposuction is not a substitute for diet and exercise.  The best candidates for liposuction in  Thailand will be near their normal body weight, with good skin tone and elasticity.

Liposuction is an excellent option for people who wish to shape and sculpt their body by removing localised areas of excess fat.  Liposuction is particularly helpful to treat areas that have not responded to traditional weight loss or exercise. Our surgeons in Thailand will assess your images prior to your departure and then when you arrive in Phuket with you will discuss your goals and expectations, and help you determine which liposuction technique or combination of techniques, would be right for you.

Liposuction has been among of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in Thailand for many years. Our surgeons offer several variations on the liposuction technique, including:

  • Tumescent Liposuction
  • Power Assisted Liposuction
  • Ultrasonic Liposuction
  • Smart Liposuction (Laser)
  • Vaser Liposuction

Tumescent Liposuction Thailand

With the tumescent technique, large volumes of saline solution, local anesthesia, and adrenaline are infused into the fatty area being treated to cause swelling. Enabling  a liposuction surgeon to maneuver a small instrument called a cannula, connected to a vacuum machine, to suction away excess fat and improve body contour.

Power Assisted Liposuction Thailand (PAL)

Power-assisted liposuction refers to a new technology in which the tip of the suction tube vibrates at a rapid speed. This vibration loosens the fat cells during liposuction so that they may be suctioned away gently with less trauma to the surrounding tissues. PAL is performed using the tumescent technique, which involves infusing large volumes of saline, local anesthesia, and adrenaline. This maximizes the effectiveness of the fat removal and patient comfort, and it helps to minimize bruising.

Ultrasonically-assisted lipoplasty (UAL)

Ultrasonic assisted liposuction is a compliment to traditional forms of liposuction in Thailand including the tumescent technique. Combining these techniques enables our Thailand surgeons to go more superficially under the skin, resulting in less disruption of surrounding tissue. Ultrasonic energy acts primarily on the fat cells and has no effect on the vascular, nervous, or connective tissues around the excess fat deposits. With UAL our surgeons can achieve smoother liposuction results, remove stubborn fibrous fatty deposits and aspirate more fat. UAL is ideal for areas of the body where fat is distributed in fibrous tissue. The most frequent areas treated by UAL in men are the love handles, lower back, and chest. In women, they include the thighs, hips, buttocks, back, and stomach

Smart Liposuction – Laser Liposuction

Laser Liposuction, also called Smart Lipo, is liposuction using a small laser fibre which when under the skin melts fat at the same time as tightening the skin. Laser Liposuction is ideal for small areas and areas with loose skin. This includes treating the neck, jowl and arm areas, as well as treating cellulite and stretch marks. The laser fibre which is used in Laser Liposuction transfers energy to the area being treated, heating and melting fat. The fat is then suctioned out through a cannula or left to be removed naturally through the liver. The heating process also causes the collagen fibres in your skin to contract. This tightening action improves the appearance of stretch marks, loose skin and cellulite.

Vaser Liposuction Thailand

The VASER System utilizes proprietary ultrasound technology to break up fatty tissue before removal. The VASER Technology used for the LipoSelection procedure is efficient and precise because the sound waves it emits break up fatty tissue while leaving surrounding tissues largely undisturbed. Treatment with the VASER System has been reported to produce low to minimal pain, low to minimal bruising and swelling, and few complications.

The VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing

What distinguishes the VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing procedure is its ability to chisel out six pack abs, pecs, lats, obliques (as well as other muscle groups)? VASER technology is also able to differentiate targeted fat from other important tissues – such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. Innovative VASER technology breaks up fat while preserving these other important tissues to promote smooth results and rapid healing.

Liposuction is a surgical is a method for removing areas of stubborn fat that do not respond to a healthy diet and regular exercise. Fat can be removed from the back, chest, stomach, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, underneath the chin and the neck with the aim of reshaping and slimming that particular area. However, liposuction cannot prevent you gaining weight, and it is also not a treatment for cellulite.

Many people instantly think of the cosmetic benefits of liposuction. However, they don’t always focus on the health benefits. While there is ample research showing the connection between liposuction and lowered cholesterol, reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, there are also other benefits for those undergoing a liposuction procedure.

For those that struggle with their weight, simple daily activities such as walking up stairs, bending over to tie their shoes or going clothes shopping can be a chore. When liposuction removes unwanted fat cells from the body, especially the midsection, patients experience, increase mobility and ease in everyday day activities.

Over the next two or three weeks, your treated areas may remain very sensitive and strenuous physical activities should be limited. These guidelines will help you avoid stress to your treated Areas and allow time for your time to heal and recover. All Liposculpturing procedures are performed using small incision, about the length of this red line —–, so any scarring will be minimal.

What are the risks of Liposuction surgery in Thailand?

Liposuction surgery in Thailand or Australia is a safe procedure but like all forms of surgery does have a small amount of risk. A common side effect is feeling sick after a general anaesthetic and soreness and bruising. Liposuction surgery is performed at PIAC Hospital on a regular basis and by highly qualified Thailand surgeons. Complications are rare but they can happen and it is as well to be aware of them.Complications include the following:

  • Oedema (swelling)
  • Dizziness – following loss of fluids during surgery.
  • Embolism – this is where a fat deposit can enter the bloodstream as a result of broken blood vessels during surgery.
  • Change in sensation at the liposuction sites.
  • Skin dimpling, waxiness or laxity. The skin loses some elasticity as a result of the removal of large amounts of fat. This tends to be more of an issue for older patients.
  • Asymmetry – uneven appearance due to the removal of fat from one side more than the other.
  • Skin pigmentation
  • Thrombosis – blood clotting in the lower leg.
